How many times per week do you do structured exercise like a class, running, cycling or the gym? Once, twice, three times? Amazing! Any form of exercise is just fantastic for burning calories and sooooo beneficial for the mindset too. So if that’s a YES keep up the good work 👍🏻

But we also need to be doing other forms of physical activity EVERY day to really maximise the amount of calories that you burn in a day and more importantly for good health

Spontaneous bursts of physical activity that you can build up through the day are things like standing up from a sitting position ( so get up from your desk every hour and move), walking instead of driving to work, playing in the garden with the kids, walking the dog, taking the stairs instead of the lift, vigorous house work. How about a super speedy supermarket sweep or dancing round the kitchen 🤣

Basically anything which gets your steps up is a bonus

So many of us are equipped with our fitbits, Apple watches or similar. Making sure we do more than 10,000 steps every day to hit our goal. Even to the point of taking an extra walk up the stairs just to be sure ….. . It can be a little obsessive yes but I think this is a pretty healthy obsession.

Making just small changes to your daily routine over a long period of time will reap you rewards in your overall health, so….
